What is the Pomodoro technique?

Pomodoro is a time-management method that alternates 25-minute focus sprints with 5-minute breaks. The short sprint makes starting easy, and the fixed break keeps distractions from stretching.

After four focus rounds you take a longer break of about 15 minutes. The long break gives your brain time to recover so you can keep focusing through the afternoon.

Recommended settings

New to Pomodoro? Start with the default 25/5. If you already get into flow easily, try 50 minutes of focus with a 10-minute break. The numbers matter less than keeping the rhythm of focus and rest.

Turn on auto-start and the phases follow each other without a click. Wontimer shows which round you are on with dots, and only focus time goes into your history.
